Trini de la Isla
Singer
was born in San Fernando (Cadiz) in 1972. From childhood, he was drawn to flamenco which led him to study with Manuel Soto “Sordera de Jerez.” At 22 years of age, he began his dedication to a professional flamenco singing career celebrating recitals at various festivals and flamenco cultural centers throughout Andalucia. At this stage he was won the first prizes in the “Tacita de Plata” contest in Cadiz and in “Camaron de la Isla” contest in San Fernando. In 2002, he recorded the discography “Escuela de Baile Cristina Hoyos.” Trini collated his recitals with the tablao work at El Cordobes in Barcelona, Los Gallos, Arenal, Casa Carmen in Seville and Las Carboneras, Villa Rosa and Casa Patas in Madrid. He toured various countries such as Japan, Italy, Poland, France, India, Mexico, Switzerland, Morroco, the United States and many more with different flamenco dance company productions of gran stature. He has been featured at festivals in France at Mont de Marsan, Festival de Nimes and in Spain the Festival de Jerez, Festival de las Minas and many others of prestige. In 2010 he was the invited artist to participate in singer Miguel Poveda’s production “Histories of Live Voice” which inaugurated the 2010 Biennial flamenco festival in Seville. He has collaborated with GRANDES artists of elite line of flamenco such as Mercedes Ruiz, Andres Peña, Rosario Toledo, Alejandro Granados, Alfonso Losa, Rafael de Carmen, Pastora Galvan and many more. He regularly performs in tablaos throughout Spain with distinct flamenco figures, companies as well as in the Andalucian circuit of flamenco cultural centers for a variety of entities of the community in Southern Spain. Critics recognize him as one of the best singers who accompany flamenco dance in our present day and age.
